Anything in nature can make for an interesting photograph. This clump of grass growing near Molas Lake in the San Juan Mountains did not look impressive from afar, as we have all seen innumerable clumps of grass just like this. However, when I used a macro lens and photographed the grass up close, it revealed fascinating patterns and structure within the individual blades of grass. I used selective focus to blur the near and far parts of the image.
