This image shows the Milky Way over False Kiva in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Unlike my other night shots to date, which were taken with one exposure, I had to combine two exposures taken from the exact same spot - one 20 minutes after sunset for the land and one 1.5 hours after sunset for the stars. It is so dark inside the alcove that it is impossible to capture this image with a single exposure at night with today's cameras. But since both exposures were done from the same spot, this is essentially what you would see at night if you had superhuman vision.
