This is a composite of all the meteors I captured during the Perseids meteor shower on the morning of August 12, 2016. You can see an orangle plume extending out from a meteor on the right. I captured the plume over 6 30-second exposures, meaning it took about 3 minutes to extend out that far. I'm not sure what caused this, as most meteors burn up and are gone in about a second.
